YAHAD Yom Kippur Update 10/6/11 |

|
According to the calendar I keep,
Sundown Friday begins the annual fast or Yom Kippur, the Day of
Covering. A basic resource may be found
at this link: It is a day of fasting or, as many Bible
translations have it, "afflicting yourself." Consider your
mortality; consider those to whom you've made vows that you didn't
keep -
fulfill your vows fully (or commit to them) then let the nagging
sense of guilt go away by
listening to the Kol Nidre. (You break the vows you have
fulfilled. Please keep in mind that the linked resources are from
Jewish sources.)
The Netzari Yahad will be open this
week for Erev (Friday 7 PM) and Shabbat (Saturday 3 PM). Note the
time change, thought the doors will be open at 2. Mr. Shoup, a
tireless Christian worker and friend of this ministry, made the
transition this week, and his memorial service is Sabbath at 2 PM at
New Hope, of which I am taking part.
In this weekend of our meetings, we
will view and discuss the The Lost Tomb of Jesus, perhaps the
most controversial archaeological discovery of all time, shedding a
very white light on the life and family of the Master, yet entirely
ignored by Bible teachers everywhere. Our time together with this
presentation will be well worth your sacrifice of a few hours.
And though Oneg was planned for the
Sabbath, the Yom Kippur fast trumps our desire for creature
comforts, and we will resume oneg after the next Rosh Codesh. Consider also my last note - As some of us will be away for Tabernacles, we urge you to make your tabernacles plans (for Oct 13 - 20) with Linda Blessing, who will sponsor a local service for those of Netzari Israel (and anyone else who wants to learn what the feasts are all about). Linda can be reached at (772) 713-6363 or by email linda . blessing3 @ yahoo . com.
Questions or opt out? Just reply with your desire. Yours in YHWH, Jackson Snyder
