Open Letter to Linda Blessing from Jackson Snyder.

Update 112311

Linda-

RAMYK et al contacted me having read my open letter to you here: http://www.jacksonsnyder.com/yah/notes-moreh/open-letter-to-linda.htm  Bnai Yahshua Synagogues have changed their organization to make it more inclusive.  It is now called Nazarene Yisrael Alliance.  The site is here: http://www.nyalliance.org.

The Beit Din are considering honoring you as a special scholar and consultant to the Beit Din of the NYA.  In the last couple months, the Beit Din has been going through changes that have served to open doors, especially regarding the contemporary trend of Messianic & Sacred Name groups prohibiting women from teaching or even speaking.  That conversation being now behind them, they would be honored with access to your knowledge about rabbinical judaism and especially torah specific issues, and they would like to honor you with a title.

My job is to see if you would be open to this idea, and to what degree.  I can personally say that there were many wise women at tabernacles upon whom they could have conveyed this honor / responsibility, but it has instead gone outside the group to you. Considering we have a spiritual connection through baptism in the true name, of course I was glad to be able to 'feel you out' about this.  Your responsibility would be primarily to render advice to the Beit Din (made up of 3 shlichim, besides Moshe, Aca in Trinidad and Thompson in Brisbane) and to be a person of friendship and good will toward the NYA.

They asked me if I would be the official scholar friend to the Beit Din, which I was glad to do, seeing as how I have never been pressured to change any of my opinions or conform to whatever practices they preserve but I do not.

You may let me know, or you may go right to the Beit Din through the contact link on the website.  Personally, I hope you will accept what seems to me to be an honor based not on your gender but on your expertise.

Your friend in Yahweh,

Jackson

Linda –

I was really proud of your affirmations at the meetings of last weekend.  Not that anyone is contemplating plural marriage certainly, but that you traced the scripture down to its logical conclusion and were not afraid to make what you found known.

We (of Netzari Yahad by vote of elders) are going to go into a loose affiliation with Bnai Yahshua.  When I finished my work in the church, I moved my covering over to BYSW with the understanding that, as a professional, I did not have to tow a doctrinal line.  As we re-affiliate, this liberty (and liberality) will remain.

As I mentioned in the meeting, the primary population of attendees that I wanted were to be those whom I had baptized into Yahshua and who had been with me for a year or more.  Whether you meet to learn and worship somewhere else does not prohibit you from this group.  I have always considered you a Moreh who ‘graduated’ from whatever I had to go forth and teach, and in the times that I wasn’t so sure about Torah issues, I often deferred to you whether you were physically in the group or not.

I write this to say that I would like to see you as a recognized ‘moreh ha gadol’ (teacher at large), and approved as such by we who are now expanding the Yahad into a movement.  With affiliation of BYSW and Torah to the Nations, on which I will be a regular feature on their radio, and the changes we are making to the river room – which have only just begun – and with the death of my beloved partner in ministry – we stand a good chance to be more influential in our community and state for Messiah.  I am not asking you to come back, though I would really like that.  But I am asking you if you will be counted as an ordained moreh at large, to be recognized as having not only our approval, but also that of all congregations affiliated with us and BYSW.

If you will, then I would like to submit your name and position to the elders of the assembly and give you due recognition through both organizations.

This opportunity doesn’t come along often, and when it does, it usually requires a cash payment for the honor.  (For such is the world system, be it religious or not.) However, due to your tremendous ministry and service to your family and to us, you not only have earned such respect, but you also have earned a greater responsibility in the body of Messiah.  On his behalf, I offer you both the respect and the greater responsibility than you have yet had, and I beseech you as one who really knows you and cares about you to receive the symbol of our esteem.

If you have questions about this mail, please do reply with them, else say yes immediately so we can get you listed in the proper places as an ordinand.

In Yahweh’s mercy,

York 1910 and White 1920 silver cornets

I rebuild, restore & repair brass and silver musical instruments. The proceeds of sales go for our occupational rehabilitation ministry. Pictured are 1910 White and 1920 York silver cornets, which came to me each in very poor condition.  Each horn was chemically cleaned, de-tarnished, de-dented, re-soldered, padded and corked, with valves lapped and lubricated. They are ready as vintage instruments to go back into service, along with many more beauties.  Do you have instruments you no longer use - any make, model, condition or type?  We can put them to use in ministry.  Perhaps you are a player or need a used instrument.  Maybe I can help. Call (801) 850 6901 and leave me a message or use the contact form.  Jackson Snyder
