Why Believers Resist the True Name

Back to NEVY Home

Maybe you’ve wondered why, even after careful explanation to the contrary, “believers” continue to go back to the names of profane gods in their worship.

Why is it that those are fervent in faith, believing the most unlikely dogmas without a questioning word (such as trinity, rapture, seven-year tribulation, immortal soul, queen of heaven, praying to the dead, etc.);

YET why do some such grow suspicious when introduced to the true name(s)? And even when that wonderful name Yahweh soaks in, these same ones continue in paying homage to God, Adonai, Christ, Allah, Lord and many other Nephilim?

Shades of Purple, Spinning Heads, and the Great Parody of Scripture

I always wondered why, as I employed the proper names of our Father from the pulpit, some long-time believers would turn shades of purple, roll their eyes up into their heads, stick out their tongues, make crude jokes.  Evidently introducing the name YAH in any of its forms stirs up demons, especially spirits of idolatry, even in long-time Christians.

Consider this following excerpt from the reliable Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the Scripture:

Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying;

Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows.

Therefore hear ye the word of the LORD, all Judah that dwell in the land of Egypt; Behold, I have sworn by my great name, saith the LORD, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, The Lord GOD liveth. (Jeremiah 44:24-26)

(Note the italics, which are mine.)

The passage is a parody of itself.  Yahweh is saying that he will withhold the power of his name from occultists, and from this highly acclaimed English translation it is withheld !  What is that great name upon which the Father has sworn?  Is it “Lorth” (LORD), from the Etruscan pantheon?

Yet the RSV has been the very definition of accurate interpretation for believers and scholars for several generations.

Our Blessed Queen of Heaven

As for the passage itself, dare we lift it out of temporal setting and into the spiritual?

Yahweh says directly to men and women of Judah.  (Those who are in covenant with the Power, including Jews and those following The Jew ‘Jesus’.)  Listen!

Promises have been made to a deity and fulfilled all right.

Candles and incense have been burned all right.

Consecrated wine and other libations have been poured out all right.

Yet all of this to honor the Queen of Heaven with the expectation of the tacit approval of Yahweh Elohim.

Most readers already know the identity of the historical goddess known as Queen of Heaven, but let us allow the RSV commentator to remind us:

The Queen of Heaven and Mother of God“The refugees return to the worship of the Queen of Heaven which was the Babylonian-Assyrian goddess Ishtar, goddess of the star (sic) Venus (compare the Canaanite Astarte, Greek Aphrodite, Roman Venus). … The cult was especially popular among women, who had an inferior role in the cult of the LORD.  Offerings included wine and crescent-shaped cakes or figurines bearing the image of the goddess.  The cult persisted into the Christian centuries, and features of it were incorporated into the early Syrian church in veneration of the Virgin” (Mary).  (Italics are theirs.)

Of course the annotation is short for lack of space; but it is accurate.  This is the RSV, remember?  If we skip from the “early Syrian church” to The Church of today, we find that not much has changed, only been further ritualized, and the Queen becoming even more entrenched and identified in all Christian worship.

(For instance) the opening litany of the Eastertide (read “Ishtartide”) is the anthem of the Blessed Virgin?  This church calendar season purports to be remembering the Resurrection of Yahshua; however, the first litany proclaims the true object of worship:

Regina coeli laetare, Alleluia, Quia quem meruisti portare.
Alleluia, Resurrexit, Sicut dixit, Alleluia. Ora pro nobis Deum. Alleluia.

Those who took first year Latin in middles school recognize immediately that the words “regina coelum” (re-GHYN-ah KAY-loom) translate to Queen of Heaven.  You may translate the rest yourself and learn again what deity you are worshiping by name.

Is not this Church yet in Egypt, glutting on leaks and onions, yet a slave to inferior powers with Egyptian, Syrian and Babylonian names?

More Latin from the German Pope

In 2000, the Vatican’s chief of doctrine, Cardinal Ratzinger, composed (in the name of John Paul II) the controversial proclamation Dominus Iesus: On The Unicity And Salvific Universality Of Jesus Christ And The Church.  This is an interesting, rather lengthy, and controversial essay worth reading by anyone interested in “church.”  Dominus Iesus (Lord Jesus) defines the place of the Catholic Church in present history and the relationship of all other churches to the Catholic Church as “daughters” of the Queen.

Calling evangelical churches “daughters” of the Queen stirred up a hornet’s nest among leaders of the evangelical (protestant) movement.  “We are not daughters,” evangelicals cried out in protest in every form of public media.

“We demand you call us sisters!”

Cardinal Ratzinger replied, “No, you are daughters – and in almost every way mother and daughters are alike.”  Of course, Cardinal Ratzinger is now Pope Benedict; and he is, as usual, absolutely right. (BTW, Ratzinger is now the Pope.)

The Queens of Heaven

Christians Ignorant and Afraid

After all, what is the big difference between Classical Roman Catholic worship and that of Mainline or even Evangelical?  I don’t mean the dancing and hip hop music, I mean in the ritual and the calendar.

The Double-headed QueenMother and daughters make and pay vows, pour out wine offerings, light candles constantly (doesn’t everyone start getting quiet when the candles are lit?), celebrate Ishtar (Easter) twice a year?  (The second Easter is Christmas, with the tree of Ishtar / Ashtoreth in the sanctuary).  Images of the goddess (and / or a mighty feminine Christ) are everywhere, even in the rural parish of the hard-shell Baptist.

And in every one of these vast numbers of sanctuaries, the powerful name YHWH has been withheld from the understanding of the sons and daughters of the Egyptian / Babylonian Queen.  And even when intellectually taught and proven, still Christians and Jews are simply not permitted to utter that name without consequences.  Christians don’t know it (or are afraid of it); Jews say they don’t know it (or they say, “Nobody knows it”) and Evangelicals say that the Father has many namesDummies say that you may call 'him' anything you want and he will hear you.

Hymns in my hymn book even refer to this heresy: “Praising God of Many Names,” 104; “God of Many Names, 105.

Yet Exodus 3:15 and a thousand other passages in Scripture proclaim:

Elohim said to Moses, “You are to tell the Israelites, ‘Yahweh, the elohe of your ancestors … has sent me to you. This is my name for all time, and thus I am to be invoked for all generations to come.”

In Zechariah’s prophecy (14:9) for our time, there is a note of what is to soon come and is indeed coming even now:

And YAHWEH shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YAHWEH, and his name one.

Coming Out of the Closet

Maybe a person has to “come out of the Queen” to receive the fullness and goodness of the One whose name is to be invoked forever.

Maybe some need to come out so that they can go back in cleansed of the mystery of lawlessness through Scriptural Torah observance – through Scriptural imitation of Messiah rather than trying to be merely an imitation of an imitation through vows, Sabbath candles, libations and traditions.

And doesn’t the word mistranslated “the church” in the Scripture actually mean “the called out”?  This would be a good time for you scholars to once again read Beyond the Essene Hypothesis by Boccaccini.  In my view, this is the best study to help us understand what being “called out” actually meant to Yahshua (Jesus) and his disciples.

A Sign and a Test

With the exception of the italicized words a few paragraphs above in my quote from Exodus 3:15, the words, including the true name, are taken from the Jerusalem Bible (1965) – a Roman Catholic translation (and a fine one at that) that actually transliterates the name Yahweh back into the text the 7000+ times it’s discarded in other translations.  But the Jerusalem and New Jerusalem Bible never caught on.  Maybe the reason is found in that prophecy from Jeremiah 44:26:

Hear the word of Yahweh, all Judah that live in Egypt; Look!  I have sworn by my great name, says Yahweh, that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man, saying, The Sovereign Yahweh lives.

This Roman Catholic Translation of the Scripture, The New Jerusalem Bible, stands as a sign for the Queen, her daughters, and her followers; and a test.

The sign says, “You people, this is My Name to be invoked.”  It is very clearly read.

The test is, “Once you invoke My Name, you must come out of idolatry.”

For what that name stands for, in light of especially Exodus 20:2ff  (better known as the Ten Commandments) simply cannot be practiced within the walls of the “Church of God.”

Recently one fellow began to receive the call out.  “The problem with being called from is that I have no place to be called to.”  If Yahweh has revealed his name to you, my friend, then you can trust him with both the “from” and the “to.”  You are NOT alone.  You have brothers and sisters, called-out ones, all over the world waiting to welcome you to the New Kingdom.

May you come to know the Truest Name, Truest Messiah and Truest Faith,
