The TEN COMMANDMENTS Found in the SHEMA
The Entire Shema is consists of
Devarim 6:4-9, 11:13-20
& Bamidbar 15:37-41
1| Understand that YHWH is Echad.
2| Bless his name and reign
continually.
3| Love YHWH with your heart,
being, and stuff.
4| These words are to be
memorized and recalled.
5| You will teach them to family,
talk about them at home; recite them on the road, when you sleep and
rise.
6| Tie them as a sign on your
hands and between your eyes.
7| Write them on your doorposts
and gates.
8| In your deceit, dare you not
turn back to worship other elohim.
9| Your life, the lives of your
children, and your land will be prolonged timelessly.
10| You and children are to wear
fringes on the corners of your clothes; one of which will be blue
(or purple), and look at these to remind you of who you are.
Blessing: You and yours will
receive sufficient provisions and enjoy long life.
Warnings: You will be deceived
when putting others before YHWH (ie, you will not be able to
perceive your own idolatry). You will lose your land and perish.
MORE ABOUT THE SHEMA
1|
“Shema” is the first word of Devarim 6:4, by which the ‘central
confessional creed’ consisting of that verse plus 6:5-9, 11:13-20,
Bam 15:37-41.
2|
The observant recite the Shema morning, evening, and bedtime. Also
before death, especially a martyr’s death..
3|
Inscribed all or in part on the parchment of tefillin (Shem 13:9,16;
Dev 6:8; 11:18) and mezuzot (Dev 6:9; 11:20).
4|
A sign of the importance of the Shema among commandments is the use
of it by Yahshua (1st century, Mattyah 22:36ff).
There has been disagreement in the interpretation of Dev 6:4:
1|
If it is connected with the 7th century BC reforms of
Josiah, it could mean that there is only one acceptable
manifestation of YHWH – in the Jerusalem Temple.
2|
Among all the gods worshipped in Israel, YHWH is the One to be
worshipped. (This is henotheism.)
3|
YHWH is the ONLY Eloha – this has become the meaning understood by
Jewish groups to the present day. (This is monotheism.)
Is
YHWH the only Elohim?
Yahshua pointed the Shema out as the most important commandment. He
probably understood it as representative of the entire set of verses
known by that title. What are the commandments of the full Shema?
Which are we to keep and which are we to ignore?

I rebuild, restore &
repair brass and silver musical instruments. The proceeds of sales
go for our occupational rehabilitation ministry. Pictured are 1910
White and 1920 York silver cornets, which came to me each in very
poor condition. Each horn was chemically cleaned,
de-tarnished, de-dented, re-soldered, padded and corked, with valves
lapped and lubricated. They are ready as vintage instruments to go
back into service, along with many more beauties. Do you have
instruments you no longer use - any make, model, condition or type?
We can put them to use in ministry. Perhaps you are a player
or need a used instrument. Maybe I can help. Call (801) 850
