NAMES
I have revealed your name to those whom you took
from the world to give me. Keep those you have given me true to your name
so that they may be one like us.
You will hear us speaking of
the Heavenly Father as Elohim, Yahweh, the Almighty or Sovereign. Also we speak of the Son as Yahshua, Messiah,
Anointed, Master or Sovereign.
I personally try not to use
the following appellations because I have traced them to pagan sources: Lord,
God, Adonai, Yeshua, Christ
or Jesus. What you do is up to you.
We can speak about this
together or you may read my reasons from a Christian / Trinitarian point of
view here:

HEBRAIC BIBLE EDITIONS
Currently I prefer The Scriptures from the Institute of Scriptural Research. This translation reproduces the Hebrew order
of Books: Torah / Prophets / Writings, and uses the Hebrew names for the books. It also is quite easy to read, and returns
the correct names and titles for the Father and Son. Hardcover, $30; Softcover $20.
The Sacred Scriptures, Bethel Edition
is a good Hebraic starter Bible since it’s based on
the American Standard, so many of the readings are familiar, in returns the
correct names and titles and preserves the English titles of most books. Hardcover, $25.
The Restoration Scriptures is
for the person who wants to become immersed in Hebraic roots and living. It is a monster or a reference, containing very
much content in transliterated Hebrew and notes on all things Nazarean. Hardcover, $65 and worth
it.
The Jewish Bible
by David Stern. It is
a paraphrase and uses some transliterated Hebrew words. It has good commentary. However, since Jews do not pronounce the name
of the Father, the pagan appellations LORD, Adonai
and God remain. I have a signed copy of
this if you want to look at it, but the avid Bible student will grow out of
this quickly.
I don’t recommend any others
at this time.
FREE HEBRAIC LITERATURE
I get free magazines,
calendars, leaching and literature from The Assemblies of Yahweh, Yahweh’s New
Covenant Assembly and the Sabbath Sentinel organization. All these are good if you can overlook the
sectarian viewpoint. There are also many
sites that have great free literature, and many more with heretical or Jewish
stuff. We’re not trying to be Jewish,
but Hebraic. Jews and many Messianic
Jewish groups deny Messiah Yahshua. We
want to avoid that. Others delve outside
of scripture into Jewish myths – Mishnah, Kaballah, etc.
