The Cause of Suffering and the Promise of DeliveranceA few definitions:
Torah means
Instruction.
Yahweh is the
personal name of the Heavenly Father.
The Cause of SufferingsExodus 3:7. Then Yahweh said, "I have seen the affliction of my people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters; I know their makob . . .
The people suffered under hard bondage. But their makob didn’t begin with their enslavement to Pharoah; it began with their enslavement to lawlessness; that is, not heeding the Torah of the Heavenly Father. Then as now, Lawlessness (failure to heed divine guidance) leads to Enslavement (first to sin, then to bondage).
Jer 30:12 For thus says Yahweh: Your hurt is incurable, and your wound (makkah) is grievous. … 15. Why do you cry out over your hurt? Your pain (makob) is incurable. Because your guilt is great, because your sins are flagrant, I have done these things to you.
What, according to the Nabi, caused action on the part of Yahweh?
Sin Is . . .Again, we consider the New Covenant definition of sin (Weymouth Translation), 1 John 3:4 Every one who is guilty of sin is also guilty of violating Law; for sin is the violation of Law. What does your translation say?
The Promise of RestorationJer 30:17. For I will restore health to you, and your wounds (makkah) I will heal, says Yahweh, because they have called you an outcast: 'It is Zion, for whom no one cares!' This promise is reiterated in many prophetic passages throughout Scripture.
Yahweh and EmpathyIsaiah 63: 8. For he said, Surely they are my people, sons who will not deal falsely; and he became their Savior. 9. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them . . .
Here is a good place
to sing this Elohym:
This is how Yahweh can say “I know their sufferings” because he identified with them in their sufferings.
This quality is called empathy, defined as “Identification with and understanding of another's situation, feelings, and motives.”
In each and every generation and each and every day, one is obligated to see themselves as leaving Egypt personally.
Present Generations EmpathizeThis is how Shaul could teach: 1 Cor 10:1. I want you to know, brethren, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea, 2. and all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3. and all ate the same supernatural food 4. and all drank the same supernatural drink. For they drank from the supernatural Rock which followed them, and the Rock was Messiah.
ALL is mentioned 5 times, yet ALL is not literally true. Did Shaul’s father and grandfather pass through? No. Did the ancestors of the Corinthians pass through? Probably not. The point is, we are not to disassociate ourselves from the “Exodus Experience” but consider our ancestors to have passed through, even our fathers, even ourselves. We have suffered, we were afflicted, we covenanted, we were promised, we were delivered.
Covenant Reality: A Torah ConceptDeuteronomy 29:10. You stand this day all of you before Yahweh Elohim . . . 12. so that you may enter into the sworn covenant of Yahweh your Elohim, which the Yahweh your Elohim makes with you this day; 13. that he may establish you this day as his people, and that he may be your Elohim, as he promised you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. 14. Nor is it with you only that I make this sworn covenant, 15. but with him who is not here with us this day as well as with him who stands here with us this day before the Yahweh our Elohim.
Eddie Chumney says, “If you were not there, you were there!"
As For the FutureExodus 13:8. And you shall tell your son on that day, 'It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.'
This is a Passover Commandment. Though not literally true, it is a Torah concept for future generations and a technical term referring to the Messianic Age.
Where is Service to be Provided?Exodus 3:11. But Moses said to Elohim, "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and bring the sons of Israel out of Egypt?" 12. He said, "But I will be with you; and this shall be the sign for you, that I have sent you: when you have brought forth the people out of Egypt, you shall serve Elohim upon this mountain."
What was brought forth “upon this mountain” (Horeb / Sinai) was the Torah. (See the definition above.) We serve Yahshua (Jesus, the lesser Yahweh) by keeping his Torah. We are redeemed from Egypt to serve on the mountain and keep his Torah.
The NameExodus 3:13. Then Moses said to Elohim, "If I come to the people of Israel and say to them, 'The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' what shall I say to them?"
There are two questions here (pretty much disguised in the translation). The first is “What shall I say to them?" The second is “What is his name?”
Here’s the answer to the first question: 14. El said to Moses, "I am who I am." And he said, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'I am has sent me to you.'"
And the answer to the second: 15. El also said to Moses, "Say this to the people of Israel, 'Yahweh, the elohim of your fathers, the elohim of Abraham, the elohim of Isaac, and the elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you': this is my name for ever, and thus I am to be remembered throughout all generations.
What is the divinely-revealed name of the Elohim of Jacob? It is not I AM, it is ________________ .
How does Elohim want to be remembered? _______________________________________
For how long? ________________________________________
Does that include now or not? _______________________
The Number of His Name (optional)
YHWH = The name has no vowels, but each consonant is also a number. Y = 10, H = 5, W = 6. If so, then YHWH = ______
The number of our Elohim's name reminds us of his Torah and his people being brought out from bondage, since it’s the exact number of generations from Adam to Moses.
The point of the lesson is that we hold stock in the people and events leading to the first Pesach, including suffering, bondage and deliverance. That makes all who enter into covenant with Yahweh are a part of Israel.
Yahshua came to seek out and save the lost tribes of Israel, to reintroduce the name of the Heavenly Father to this people.
The events surrounding the first Passover in Egypt are HISTORICAL, but also PROPHETIC. They are typical of future happenings. The prophets spoke of them in terms of FUTURE generations.
Israel and the whole world will thus be redeemed (bought / brought back) as a fulfillment of the acts of Passover and WE ARE BEING redeemed now as we stand together in the final day.
Exodus 3:8. and I have come down to deliver them (and us) out of the hand of the Egyptians. Thank you for taking time for us. Shalom, Racham, Yownah!
