Water Baptisms in Vero Beach, Fall, 2009

The Mezuzot and the Siddur Mezuzot

We baptize in the name of Yahshua-Yahweh, as prescribed in the biblical book Acts of the ApostlesWater baptisms in the name of Yahshua-Yahweh in Vero Beach, Florida.Besides using the correct name (for, by no other may we be saved), our studies show us that the original mode of baptism was by sprinkling or pouring.  Fortunately for us, we reside in a location with plenty of water.

The Acts (of Philip) 8:14-17, 36-38. Now when the apostles at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of Elohim, they sent to them Kefa and Yochanon, who came down and prayed for them that they might receive ruach haqodesh; for it had not yet fallen on any of them, for they had only just been baptized in the name of Mar Yahshua. Then they laid their hands on them and they received ruach haqodesh. ... And as they went along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said, "See, here is water! What is to prevent my being baptized?" 38. And he commanded the chariot to stop, and they both went down into the water, Philip and the eunuch, and Philip baptized him.

Siddur Mezuzot logoMezuzot (muh-TZOO-tzōt) (singular, mezuzah) are the little boxes we put on our doorposts as commanded by YHWH in the Torah in Deuteronomy 6:4-7,9. (The Shema) "Hear, O Israel: Yahweh Eloheinu is Yahweh Echad; and you will love Yahweh Eloheinu with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words which I command you this day will be upon your heart; and you will teach them diligently to your children, and will talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. ...  And you will write them on the doorposts (mezuzot) of your house and on your gates."

As the Scripture tells us, we may apply as many boxes to as many 'doorposts' as we feel necessary.  Every so often, especially when new people come to the realization that this is commanded, we have an informal service to dedicate our houses and mezuzot, and to thank and bless Yahweh for his great provision.

All who would participate bring their boxes (and the inscriptions inside). We put them together, and dedicate them, and sometimes apply oil to them.  Departing, we take our newly dedicated mezuzah home and apply it as the Scripture instructs.

Here pictured are a few Nazoreans who are laying their hands upon the boxes and praying thanks to Yahweh for the commandment and protection from Yahweh on their homes and lives.

There is more information about this practice and a home service you can officiate at this link.
