PURPOSE
AND PHILOSOPHY
Rom 12:6-8 Having graces (charismata) that differ according to the favor (charin) given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if ministry, in our service; he who teaches, in his teaching; he who encourages, in his exhortation; he who shares, in liberality; he who administrates, with zeal; he who cares, with cheerfulness.
The purpose of completing the
inventory is to assist you in identifying the Romans 12 “Motivational Grace”
operating in your life; namely, Prophecy, Ministry, Teaching, Encouraging,
Sharing, Administration or Caring. Each
is descriptive of an individual's “perspective” for dealing with life
situations. Your Motivational Grace
heavily influences how you relate to people and circumstances. You will go a
long way toward discovering your “fit” in the Body when you discover your
grace.
Scripture
teaches that the Father bestowed upon each individual one predominant
Motivational Grace. Our research to date also suggests that He sometimes bestows
one or two other secondary graces that work to complement the predominate grace.
(We call these secondary graces “wings.”)
This inventory is intended to help you differentiate which grace is
predominant, and whether or not you have other graces operating as complementary
“wings” to your predominant motivational grace.
It
is important to note that no test or inventory can be perfect, so please avoid
applying your results too rigidly. The
inventory is best used in the context of a Scriptural teaching on Motivational
Graces by a qualified instructor in a group setting, allowing for discussion,
interaction and affirmation of each other’s function within the New Testament
model.
The core of the New Testament Model is Team Ministry. Consider that in the Old Testament, you find more than a few “Lone Rangers.” For example, you had Abraham and Noah had essentially singular callings. Elijah and Elisha or the various other prophets typically operated alone. Paul, who as Saul typified the OT model, operated on his own.
But in the New Testament model, the Father called teams. Jesus had the 12, and even within the twelve, he had the inner team of Peter, James and John. When Jesus sent out the 12 and the 70, he did it two by two. Saul—as Paul—no longer went on his own, rather, Paul had Barnabas or Silas or Luke or John Mark. Therefore, in the New Testament model, an effective ministry group or church will be one in which its members appreciate their own gifts yet have an even greater appreciation of the gifts of others as they work together.
As
a result, cooperation will become the by-word of the work of the team.
A sound understanding of how individual graces interact is critical to
producing sustained result-based outcomes, spiritual growth, and winning
teamwork consistent with this New Testament model.
As
we become comfortable utilizing our gifts in the group, a seedbed is
formed to empower ministry. This
organic approach is in opposition to the highly programmed model that most
ministries use unsuccessfully in an attempt to develop quality leadership.
Therefore, by knowing our Motivational Grace and our personality traits,
our purpose in the Kingdom can more easily come to light, thus providing a good
means of finding our best fit within the group.
However, we have come to see that just knowing your motivational grace is not enough. Until you superimpose an understanding of your unique personality over your grace, you will not truly be fitted to achieve your purposes in the Kingdom. Think of it this way: your motivational grace is the primary lens through which you view the world and ministry, but your personality also colors all that you see through that lens. The unique perspective you bring to ministry is a product of your grace and your personality working together in harmony. Consequently, this present research is geared toward refining the correlation between graces and personality, and better defining the vast combinations that are possible.
Thousands
of individuals have completed our motivational grace assessments with amazing
results. By teaching the concept of
Motivational Graces, we have enabled congregations of all sizes, styles and
denominations to move more to the forefront in fulfilling their purpose in the
Body. It is our opinion there can
be no real “equipping of the Saints” as Ephesians 4 talks about until each
saint has discovered the seven Motivational Graces of Romans 12:6-8 as a primary
functional approach to ministry.
We
pray you will be uniquely blessed and encouraged by the understanding achieved
in this exercise. We thank you for participating in our research! If
you need feedback, further explanation, or find errors, contact us at mgi-2006-1@aftrain.com.
If you find this assessment helpful, please feel free to pass the

Your responses to the MGI indicate that your Motivational Grace is Encouraging;
no wings.
Completing at least three inventories may confirm or optimize your results. You may access the full battery of inventories from www.CharismaticGifts.com.
Your
responses to the CMI indicate that your Motivational Grace is Prophecy;
your right wing is Teaching and
left wing is Administrating.
MGI
& CMI are compatible. Aggregation indicates that your
Motivational Grace is Encouraging; no wings.
There was (a close | a somewhat | no) correlation between
results of the MGI and CMI inventories.
The
DWM is a longer and different style of inventory. Your
responses to the DWM indicate that your Motivational Grace is Sharing;
your right wing is Teaching and no wing.
WINGS: In some individuals, a second or even a third grace works in subordination to or in conjunction with the primary grace. We call these secondary graces "right" and "left wings."
Summary: Your Motivational Grace is Sharing /
teaching wing.

2. TEMPERAMENT MASK: One’s self-perceived manner of thinking, behaving or reacting socially. Our assessment of Temperament Mask is based on one’s responses to questions regarding directness with, and openness to, others.
Temperament Masks are called by the usual four Hippocratic terms (Sanguine, Choleric, Melancholy and Phlegmatic) plus a fifth term coined by the Drs. Arno (Supine). These Masks are described at the link below.
Knowing one’s Temperament Mask helps determine, validate and empower both spiritual gifts and personality. The better you know yourself and your grace, and the better you know others, the better you can work with each other and not against each other.
You
told us you were (optimistic | not optimistic) and others see you
as (optimistic | not optimistic). This is helpful in determining
Temperamental Mask. (Certain
“temperament masks” have greater capacity for optimism than others.)
TMI
/ BSE Direct
/ Indirect score (-1,5)
(both), which indicates you are ambivalent
in dealing face-to-face with others socially. (The higher the score, the
more direct you may be with others.) (Certain
“temperament masks” have greater capacity for being direct than others.)
TMI / BSE Open / Contained score (-3,5)
(both), which indicates you are
ambivalent to how others act and what they say in
a social setting. (The higher the score, the more open you may be
to others.) (Certain
“temperament masks” have greater capacity for openness than others.)
*Ambivalent - Characterized by a mixture of opposite feelings or attitudes, or lack of any strong attitude.
In the Mask portion of the Cephali Temperament Index (CTI), you scored highest in the indirect / contained range.
Therefore, your Temperament Mask is called:
Supine Sanguine
Phlegmatic Choleric
probably Melancholy

this link for details of your Temperament Mask.
3. TEMPERAMENT: One’s actual manner of thinking, behaving or reacting in (1) socializing, (2) issues of control and (3) matters of love and affection. Our assessment of Temperament is based on one’s responses to questions that illicit affirmative answers in all three realms. Knowing one’s temperament very much helps individuals work in teams and understand their behaviors.

4. NINE KEY PERSONALITY PROFILE: A fundamental element of the Nine Key Personality Profile (also called “The Enneagram“) is its description of nine distinct personality types, each a reflection of different patterns of thought, feeling and action. The Nine Key Profiling system that we use has its roots in the Christian monastic movement of the fourth century, and is permeated by the spirituality of the great desert "Fathers." The Nine Key system has also been greatly expanded and amplified by contemporary Christian thinkers and counselors. Each of the nine types is rooted in a specific viewpoint or belief structure that largely determines what is important to you and how you interact with the world to fulfill your hopes and dreams.
Each of us adopted one of the nine patterns to protect a specific aspect of our selves that felt under threat during the development of our personalities. As you discover more about your personality type, you will also be learning about the unconscious motivations that determine much of your behavior.
Understanding your personality type can literally change your life - not only in your relationships with yourself and others, but in the way you cope with all issues and situations. (Some of the above quoted from Enneagram Monthly ©2005)
Your
Nine Key Personality Profile is that of the
EIGHT - Powerful Individualist.

5. PNEUMATIC (Spiritual) PROFILE: This is information you gave us that will help us with future research for the second module of our gifts assessment series. Based on what you entered, we may be contacting you again for further studies.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit: It is received when one is sanctified. I know: Because I speak in tongues.
