Let me speak personally first about why I am a Nazorean.  First I use the Greek spelling to differentiate between what I believe and what the organization called "The Church of the Nazarene" believes.  Though I have a number of things in common with the Church of the Nazarene (Wesleyanism, holiness, etc.) but there are more things not in common.

From the Scriptures regarding Yahshua aka Jesus:

• "He shall be called a Nazarene."  Nazarene denotes a place.

• "You also were with the Nazarene."  Nazarene becomes a movement.

• "A ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.  Now Nazareth has been forgotten and it is a movement.

The “Sect of the Nazoreans” has been identified in our day through the diligent work of cutting edge scholars.  We know what the Nazoreans believed, practiced, and we have quite a few of their texts.

The Hebrew Scriptures are replete with passages regarding showing the love of the Father Yahweh by keeping his commandments.  Yahshua said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.”  If, as you claim, Yahshua and Yahweh are part of a Trinity, then the commandments are one and the same.  This is borne out by the letter of 1 John, especially 3:4.

Christians try to keep the last five commandments, and there’s a lot of preaching on them.  The last five have to do with horizontal relationships: don’t murder, don’t covet, don’t betray.  But Christians seem completely ignore the first five, vertical commandments.

1.     No other elohim before me.  Christians ignore this entirely because they don’t obey Yahweh, believing and teaching that his word is passed away or been superseded by the “dispensation of grace.”   

2.     Using the name in vain.  The sacred name of the Heavenly Father is known by every Christian teacher and preacher on the face of the earth, yet they continue a tradition of using the name of the Assyrian “God” in its place (Is 65:11 NJB), a name which means “Good Luck” in the language of the Savior.  According to the commandment, those who know and continue to perpetrate this sin will “not be held guiltless.”

3.     Keeping the Sabbath – the seventh day of the week.  How do we know which is the seventh day?  We know because we believe the Bible.  The Bible makes it crystal clear that the same Sabbath that was kept in the Garden of Eden and in the wilderness is known and to be kept today.  How do you keep it?  It’s so easy that we wonder why there’s so much rebellion on the part of Christians for doing it.  Two ways – don’t work for pay, do have a prayer meeting.  That’s all.  You can do absolutely all the good you want.  Whatever else you need to do you wil learn in time.

As for the food laws – these are just as valid as the ten commandments.  Unfortunately, Christians have again nullified these by mistranslating, interpolating and intentionally promoting false teaching based on a half dozen passages in the New Testament.  Do you think Yahshua ate swine? lion? a dead carcass?  Eating such was a death sentence.  Anyway, most of the stuff against the eating laws we would never eat anyway, like a skunk, a skink, a slug, road kill. 

Some people say that since everything is so sanitary these days, these rules no longer apply.  But what does Yahweh say about why he doesn’t want you eating forbidden stuff like blood?  When asked the question, Yahweh replied, “BECAUSE THESE THINGS ARE AN ABOMINATION TO ME.”  We don’t need a health reason.  His opinion is enough reason for me.

As for love – there are many words in the original languages for love.  Christians understand love to be what the Greeks called phileo (Phillip means ‘lover of horses’ – phil – hippo - for instance).  Phileo is fellowship – being nice to people – encouraging people, etc.  But the word for love that Yahshua demands isn’t phileo – it’s agape: agape doesn’t even mean love, it means something more akin to charity.  This kind of love may even entail hatred – “Jacob I loved, Esau I hated,” says Yahweh in love of both. 

Agape can only come out of RIGHT JUDGMENT, not out of emotionalism, pity or fondness.  To AGAPE the Messiah means for us to keep the commandments.  Such has very little to do with emotional attachments, as phileo.

A person can only be justified and saved by faith.  However, James makes it clear in Acts 15 and in his epistle that GROWING in AGAPE means learning what is expected and doing as you learn.  This is why most Christians, especially famous TV teachers, will not make it in the first resurrection.  The second resurrection of Rev 20:5 is reserved for them, and this was prophesied by one of their own. 

According to the Scripture prophets, only those who know the Ordinances of Yahweh and practice them will be among the elect, because these elect will be responsible for ruling and taming a millennial earth (Zechariah 14 and many other places).  People who know nothing of the name of the high potentate or his ordinances can’t be trusted with the grave responsibilities of guiding nations in the Millennium.  When the world is tamed, at the end of the 1000 years, those who neglected to properly love (by learning and keeping the commandments) will be resurrected to enjoy some of the fruits of a perfect world.  But because they called "Lord, Lord . . .", they can’t be expected to take part in making a perfect world - only a deceived world.

That’s my viewpoint landed from years of study and a harmonizing of all scripture.  That’s why I’m a Nazorean and have been for more than 10 years while serving in a Christian church.  I know true Christians, especially those who aren’t teachers, will be OK in the end.  They are a stick in Yahweh's hand.  However, I want to be among those who help shape the Millennial world.  And I love the Father enough to want to learn his ways and follow them no matter if people think I’m unloving, in a cult, or anything else.  We’ll get that all straightened out later on.
