It’s either dumb chance or His divine will that I’m here to speak to you tonight. I prefer to think that I’m here at the behest of Yahweh with a message for you who are in exile, keeping the faith and awaiting the coming of your kingdom. At the time Phil asked me if I could come, it so happened that I was researching a tree that grows in Liberia, the Moringa or Drumstick Tree. Do you know this tree? In Swahili it’s called mlonge or mzunze. I’ll refer to the Moringa tree a little later. Seven Days, Six UpIt’s a fact that whether we are Liberian, American, Chinese, Indian, wherever we originate – if we are members of the household of Yahweh – we’re looking with great expectation to the coming of HIS kingdom and righteousness. World systems of government are by nature corrupt whether the corruption is plain to see or insidiously hidden. We can no more rely on governments, nations or even church networks for our sustenance and redemption than we can rely on satan to see to the welfare of our souls. We seek a far more benevolent and just rule, a kingdom of love, light, peace and equitable justice under a King of Kings who bears the iron rod of chastisement in one hand (Psalms 2:7-9), the shepherd’s staff of mentorship in the other (Psalms 23:4), who slays the wicked with the sword of his mouth (Psalms 7:12, 149:6) yet nurtures those who mourn with divine promises of great spiritual treasure (Psalm 30:11). May his kingdom come on earth as in heaven, for we are the privileged elect and we will behold the astounding days of his glorious advent, for his time has come so our time is coming. The prophet declared, “With Yahweh one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day (2 Peter 3:8, Psalms 90:4). In the year 2002, we find ourselves in the latter day, the day in which He shall reign forever and ever. The Creator fashioned the creation in seven days as a model (or paradigm) of the great span of seven thousand years of salvation history. Just as Yahweh worked six days and rested the seventh, so these last six thousand years the creation has been at the work of groaning for its redemption, but the final day of a thousand years, that blessed seventh day, is now upon us. We are about to enter the Millennium Sabbath, the age in which all evil shall be destroyed and all wrong set aright. We are about to set foot in the Promised Land, where we shall overcome and reign with the King of Kings. There is a pronounced, desperate urgency in our doings and thinkings; have you noticed a change in your thought patterns lately? Of course you have. That’s because His time has come so your time is coming. Hallelujah! The Bible graphically shows us that 4,000 years had passed by the time Yahshua Messiah visited us, and 2,000 years have passed since he left for his throne – six prophetic days of a thousand years each have passed by, and now the world’s secular calendar proclaims that it has been 6002 years since the creation of this world. Six days are gone. We are now living in the seventh day – at the very brim of the Millennium. Today’s date on the Hebrew calendar is the 21st of Av, year 5762. If we restore the 240 years removed by the rabbinical council in the year 135 AD, we find ourselves in the year 6002 by the Hebrew calendar as well as the secular calendar. Is it mere coincidence that the secular and religious calendars agree with each other in the year 6002? If so, that great time of the Millennium reign is no longer a dream for the future, but is now upon us – we are on the event horizon – on the very lip and verge of the Kingdom we have sought for all the days of our lives! Do you get it? And we have witnessed a multiplicity of signs in these days that the King is on the way; or perhaps he’s in the world now, rearranging nations as though the earth were a gigantic Rubik’s Cube. We look to events in Israel, the Holy Land, to provide the litmus test for Messiah’s advent. Like the Moringa tree, the fig tree Israel is resurrected, struggling for its very life, yet bearing much fruit in the struggle. Jerusalem has become the prophetic stumbling stone of the nations because the nations may no longer tread it under foot. These world nations have been at constant war for a hundred years, just as the Son of Man predicted as the prelude to the end of the age. The man of sin has been revealed (2 Thessalonians 2:8); yea, many men of sin are revealed in many nations under G-d, including your home nation. The wailing wall in Jerusalem is literally weeping water even as we speak, as though the miracle of Ezekiel’s (47) prophecy of the new temple was about to be fulfilled. And in the midst of all these significant signs of Divinity, here we are together this evening, you and I, gathered from all over the world. And we, though few and weak, are likewise significant, and this assembly is significant, for we are the chosen ones, planted as the eternal trees in Eden’s arbors, here, in the year of our G-d 6002. Are we not blessed to be together in Atlanta, Georgia, on the 21st of Av, 6002? Psalms 1:1. BLESSED IS the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; 2. but his delight is in the law of Yahweh, and on his law he meditates day and night. 3. He is like a tree planted by streams of water, that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. 6. …For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but [in that day] the way of the wicked will perish. Friends, such a day has arrived and you are these trees nourished by the water of the Word of Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed be his name. Drought-resistantI was studying the Moringa or Drumstick Tree of Liberia when I received the call to come here. This tree is quite uncommon here in the United States although two years ago the National Council of Churches’ Church World Service organization made a gift of several Moringas to the Mayor of this city of Atlanta, Andrew Young. He planted them in his front yard! These rough little trees hardly seem an appropriate gift for such a distinguished man as Mayor Young. However, the Moringa tree has valuable properties; one of which is that the Moringa tree is extremely drought-resistant. Even when there is a dearth of water, the Moringa still produces its fruit. In this way, the Moringa is like us – drought-resistant. Though we yearn to be planted by streams of living water, we are in exile; water is scarce, the land is dry; we are thirsty. The water that can be found is often contaminated by the false prophets of popular religion. Yet because we live in such desperate, expectant times, we thrive even with a little pure water, and we dig in deeper, seeking the bubbling spring (Thomas 13) beneath the hard clay of this temporal reality. And we prosper as trees of faith – we cast forth our seed and bear fruit, some fifty-fold, some a hundred-fold, some even more. We must bear fruit, we must make disciples of all neighborhoods, we must find water and share water, for the times of legend are now upon us, and who will be able to stand? We will stand because He has planted us in his orchard exactly where we will thrive, water or no. The Moringa and YouLet me tell you a little more of what I discovered about the Moringa tree of Liberia. As I do, think about yourself within the context of (1) your ministry and (2) the pregnant time in which we live. The Moringa is planted as fence or hedgerow because it’s strong and resilient – it takes a lot of punishment. Limbs may be broken off but they grow right back. Indeed, the entire tree may be sawed or burned off, yet within days, it will sprout again from the root and be resurrected. In fact, a Moringa seed sprouts in two weeks. By four weeks, it is a substantial bush. By three months, it can be harvested. By eight months, it is nine feet tall. And at each stage of growth, the Moringa is 100% edible. It contains essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids so lacking in the diets of some of the country peoples of Africa. When it comes to growth, usefulness and nourishment, the Moringa has few rivals. It should be the same for your ministry, for you are a tree planted in an area of severe drought, but you have a deep root that goes all the way back to Adam and the Word of Elohim who created him. A taproot, you are! You should be casting seeds and watering seeds from your own deep wellspring; you should be pouring forth water on your world, even if it means hands-on cultivation of your seedlings and small shoots, name them one-by-one. For these are the end-times after all: times of great drought. You can find ways to make disciples because you are resourceful, resilient, resistant and elect. You are like a tree planted by the waters. A Miracle TreeWhen mature, the spreading Moringa bears large pods full of black beans. These beans have amazing properties. You can plant them -- and with some effort you have a whole new tree. You can eat them; they’re full of nutrition. Or you can extract the oil from them. The oil is powerful. It heals all those sick from a variety of skin and eye diseases. The leaves, seeds, flowers, oil and resin of the Moringa have therapeutic properties that are well documented to heal ulcers, fever, cancer, asthma, diabetes, gout, diarrhea, anemia, hysteria, scurvy, indigestion, prostate and bladder infections, swelling and edema, and cardiac and circulatory diseases. The Moringa can kill staph and strep infections and the microscopic parasites that make well water poisonous. It’s said that a tea from the flowers will even cure a cold. The Moringa is a miracle tree. AND SO MUST YOU BE, ALSO. Holy Scripture tells us that in the final thousand years of salvation history, in our time, Yahweh will plant a tree between the waters that’s leaves will provide healing for the nations (Revelation 22:2). The Moringa is as close to a healing tree as any on earth. Some have called it, “the tree of life.” Yet this tree, with all its blessings, pales in comparison with the Tree Planted by Streams of Water – that’s you -- for in you resides all healing, all blessing, all prosperity. Yes, I’m talking about you. You are tapped in. You are to be a healer. You may prosper for your people because you utilize all your healing gifts and because you cast out all demons and evil forces, just as our Master commanded. You do, don’t you? Of course you do. I have an Internet ministry and once in a while I get an email from somebody. Thursday I received an urgent request for prayer. A woman was suffering intense pain originating deep inside. I told her, “Go see a doctor.” She wrote back that she could neither afford a doctor’s diagnosis or the treatment that might be prescribed. She had no money. I couldn’t send her to Liberia to visit the Moringa tree or commend her to the local butcher’s shop they call a hospital. But I wanted to send her to the doctor. She rebuked me, saying something like, “Yahweh will heal me if only you will think to pray.” She was right and I was wrong. She had to remind me to take up the mantle of the healer. Now let me remind you! We are endued with gifts and graces that far surpass the healing properties of herbs and trees or the expertise of medical doctors and scientists, such as it is. Do we lay our hands on the sick and do they recover? We must. They shall! Do we cast out demons in the name of Yahshua Messiah and do they flee? We dare not neglect tending to demons and idols. Do we believe the claim that no deadly thing shall harm those who trust in Yahshua’s messengers? Friends, we must step into the waters even if they are poisonous. What we lay claim to as ministers of the eternal Gospel is an awe-inspiring power that requires awesome responsibility and accountability. Take your place, then, among Yahweh’s men and women of renown. You have hardship ahead, then a reward. Fulfill your ministry! Go for it. An Incredible PropertyThere is one more incredible property that the Moringa exhibits that I will report, because it provides a vital lesson for the fulfillment of our ministries in these end-times. The leaves and seeds of the Moringa, when crushed and mixed with vile, poisonous water, have the ability to capture impurities, dirt, bacteria and any other solids or poisons in the water, and drop them all to the bottom of the pail. Even the most polluted, noxious water may be made safe to drink simply by mixing in Moringa. This is a remarkable lifesaver for poor folks who have little access to clean, fresh water in there villages. Our parishes are perishing for lack of potable water, my friends. The sanctifying water of the Word (Eph 5:26) has been poisoned in these days by the abundance of loud false prophets who, like viruses, combine error with truth to deceive, if it were possible, even the elect. And our people are so ignorant of truth, blown hither, thither and yon by every little breeze of doctrine or promise of gain. Be appalled, O heavens, says Yahweh, for my people have forsaken me, the fountain of living waters, and hewed out broken cisterns. Jeremiah 2: 12,13 (exc.) Where are the consecrated, educated
and informed teachers of the Word, the prophets, that Yahweh requires in
these times of self-seeking and baal-chasing?
Where are the trees, planted by the living waters, able to purify even
the dingiest, darkest perversions and misrepresentations of the Word of Yahweh? How will the beloved poor of the Father
learn salvation unless there be a preacher, a teacher, and how will they preach
and teach unless they are purified, taught and consecrated to continuing
education? Who will purify the Word in
the end-times? Who will take up the
words of wisdom and knowledge? Who will
become the spiritual Moringa tree? Why,
you will and I understand that you do!
I want to belatedly congratulate Sei Buor
on achieving a doctorate degree from one of the top theological schools in the
nation. This is an awesome accomplishment
and certainly part of a much larger plan for the Kingdom and for this
assembly. I think he may agree with me
when I say that we don’t really learn theology in theology school, but
we do learn sound methods of dividing the Word of Truth and we are put to
the test in using them. Through
school, we also gain access to and are coached through significant and unusual
acts of ministry that help us not only to apply the word we’ve studied, but force
us to see the act of ministry through to its conclusion. Faith plays little part in our adjudication
in theology school; we are graded strictly on the basis of the quality of our
works. It is an honor, Dr. Buor, to
have you as our president. You are a
powerful purifying agent being mightily applied to the muddied waters. Thank you for your great sacrifice.
I understand that you’re all saving up to
establish a Bible school. Is this
true? Then, congratulations! I hope you’ll be able to complete this
undertaking soon – time is up and there has never been more need for a school
of the Word in Africa than now. We may
fail on our own, but there is power in numbers. Go and make disciples of your nation as soon as you can.
Yahshua, on his own, a Failure
But let me remind you of Yahshua’s trip to his home village. He came to Nazareth disguised as the Son of Man. When he was exposed as Mary’s boy, he failed to do any great work there on his own. Did you hear me? Yahshua failed miserably in Nazareth. I know that’s controversial, but that’s what Scripture tells us (Mark 6:5). But when he regained his confidence, he looked at the crowd of people, and his compassion for them was restored. And when his compassion returned, you will remember that he began to organize his effort. He prayed, “Send laborers into the field.” He found laborers, called them as apostles, preached at them about the Kingdom, taught them the methodology of ministry, consecrated them with the anointing of kings and priests, and sent them forth to do business. What he couldn’t succeed at on his own, he promoted through educating, consecrating and disbursing the elect men and women whom Yahweh sent him. Those branches that were nurtured by the true vine went forth to their home villages, meeting with success after success. They in turn taught others until all the elect of Israel were taught and strong, enduring trees were planted, trees that have survived even to this final day, even to this distant land. And yes, you are those trees -- planted by the Apostles of Yahshua Messiah themselves! Moringa!
Purify the waters of your land by digging a
deep wellspring and planting seedling trees in Liberia. I mean, organize your work, build your
school, engage well-educated professors of the faith, raise lots of money, make
disciples, send them forth to their home villages, bid them not stop
reproducing themselves until all evil is cast out of your land and every elect
soul is reached, “for this gospel must be preached to all nations, and then the
end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
Then the End Will Come
Did you ever wonder what Yahshua meant when
he said that when the Gospel was preached, the end would come? The end of what? The world? No. The world will never end (Ephesians
3:21). Yahshua meant the end of the evil
age. In that day, “the way of the
wicked will perish.” At the beginning of the seventh day – the seventh thousand
years – now! The Messiah returns to
rule and reign. The days of the
corruptors, evil ones and antichrists are soon to be over. The devil and his minions are ensnared and
banished. The nations are to be judged,
and those found wanting, dispensed with.
And, as at first, the elect of the Messiah will be gathered then disbursed
out into the nations to teach the great Law of Yahweh to a people hungry
for justice, equity and empowerment, and thirsty for the sanctifying water of
the word. Friends, this is that day. The time of sin’s reign is up and we who are
of the good are to go forth and be planted as trees of righteousness.
Men As Trees
Now, I don’t know much about you and I didn’t know any of you before I came. In regards to you and the United Liberian Inland Church Associates, I’m like a blind man. Yes I am. I am a blind man just like the one in the story of Mark 8:22ff. But I want to see you! I pray Yahshua to spit in my eyes. Yes, now I see: you are “Men as trees, walking” (vs. 24). Men as trees, walking! That’s you! You are trees! Walking Moringa trees, tapped into the deepest wells of the Holy Spirit -- steady, ready to teach preach, heal, cast out, bind, loose and plant seed all along the pathway of the Lord, living right in the lip of the Millennial Kingdom of Light and Eternity. Recite with me the affirmation of Psalm 52: 8. “I’m an olive tree in the house of the
Yahweh. I trust
his love forevermore.” I pray that each
of you will catch the vision for your countrymen and the world, that Yahweh
will reveal to you and release to you every single facet of every single power,
and that you will be encouraged in what you see and what results from your
ministry. May Yahweh be with you and
give you perfect strength. I adjure you
now in the name of our Elohim Yahweh and his Son Yahshua Messiah: GO AND DO. Amen.
