The
Fifth Seal has to do with the persecution of the saints.
Persecution and Christian martyrdom has indeed been at an all time
high in the last 30 years with 330,000 new martyrs per year predicted by
2000. In
the midst of global persecution, the Sixth Seal is broken, and it has to
do with atmospheric and geological phenomena, which we have tradionally
interpreted politically -- that leaders would rise and fall and nations
would be shaken. But let us
look at the sixth seal again in light of latter-day events. Rev 6:{12} When he opened the sixth seal, I
looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black
as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, {13} and the stars of the
sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken
by a gale; {14} the sky vanished like a scroll that is rolled up, and
every mountain and island was removed from its place. {15} Then the kings
of the earth and the great men and the generals and the rich and the
strong, and every one, slave and free, hid in the caves and among the
rocks of the mountains, {16} calling to the mountains and rocks,
"Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the
throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; {17} for the great day of their
wrath has come, and who can stand before it?" As
such, we wonder if the heavenly events, which occurred in August and
September of 1999 were harbingers of the day of wrath or merely
coincidence. Total
Eclipse August
11th, 1999 - Total Eclipse for 2 minutes 23 seconds over
modern-day Turkey, home of the seven ancient churches of Revelation 2 - 3.
The sun became as black as sackcloth and the moon indeed red as
dried blood. Literally
millions if not billions of people witnessed the eclipse via satellite,
even though it was a phenomenon primarily localized in Eastern Europe and
the Middle East, the very geography with which the Revelation deals.
"The sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like
blood." Earthquake August
17 -- A monumental earthquake hit Turkey just northeast of the triangle of
the seven churches. It
registered 7.4+ on the Richter scale with aftershocks in the vicinity of
4.5. Over 100,000 are
estimated dead with plagues of cholera and typhoid rampant.
In compensation for the tectonic shift on one side of the world,
another earthquake measuring 6.7 hit the very next day on the other side,
in Costa Rica. "There
was a great earthquake." 1999
has been dubbed "the year of the earthquake," with 6 serious
quakes so far and loss of life in the hundreds of thousands. Signs
in the Heavens and Hurricanes on the Earth August
22 - September 6 -- Comet Lee and the Conjunction of Planets:
Since this August 22, there has been a parade of devastating
hurricanes on our side of the world.
The reason has to do with the conjunction of several planets,
unusually strong solar radiation (sun spots), and a rogue comet named
'Lee.' Have you heard of
Comet Lee? Probably not.
Nobody has. The
astrophysical community is keeping this one quiet, says a respected
astronomer: There is a strong planetary alignment
between Earth, Venus, Moon, Uranus, and the Sun in the August 22, 26 range
which is within the window of an ecliptic crossing for Comet Lee, along
with what astrologers call a "Grand Square"; that is, an
alignment at ninety degrees to the Earth-Sun line of Saturn, Jupiter, and
Mars. And August/September are known months of high Sun activity along
with being the peak hurricane season in the Caribbean. And if that weren't
enough Earth's orbit position will be smack in the middle of the Sun's
tail at that time. All of this has the potential of increasing
the electromagnetic reaction between the Solar Capacitor, Comet Lee, the
other planets, and Earth. ... if things charge up over this comet then we
could expect a very bad hurricane season indeed; which may turn out to be
the least of our concerns. We
have about as much chance as a snowball in hell of getting any kind of
cooperation from ... JPL/NASA. These guys would literally rather die than
have their precious "dirty snowball" comet theory be
disproved.... The fact that lives might potentially be saved with this
information will have no effect whatsoever on the NASA/NSA/NSC bunch.
(Earl L. Crockett, http://www.millenngroup.com) For
instance, in just the last couple months, three separate hurricanes have
devastated the Carolinas, with more on the way. Yet we are still blaming La Nina. We have never even heard of Comet Lee, the Grand Square or
the sun's tail! Preview
to the Millennium Bug September
9, 1999. This day was hyped
as the beginning of the Y2K disaster, since 99/99/99 as the contents of a
data field in old Cobol database records was the end-of-file marker.
I vividly remember all the nines at the end of the lists we used to
pull off the computer at the bank in the 70s.
But because nothing happened with banking 9/9/99, most now believe
that Y2K 2000 - 2002 will be a non-event, and therefore have ceased to
prepare. This may be a mistake. 9/9/99
may have been a deception of 'peace and safety.' Here's
another version from David M. Bresnahan's column, October 14th 1999 (as
reported at http://www.jvim.com): John F. Mauldin, investment analyst for
ProFutures Fund Management and author of a book on Y2K investment
strategies, is expecting a major recession in the U.S. and a depression in
many other countries. He goes so far as to predict 20 percent unemployment
in the U.S. after the first of the year and a drop of 50 percent in the
stock market. Companies in many foreign countries are building large
inventories of parts and supplies in anticipation of Y2K computer
bug-related shortages at the start of the new year. The impact of laying
in those inventories may cause layoffs, a recession in the U.S. and a
depression in other parts of the world. The economic prosperity bubble is
very fragile and doesn't need much pressure to pop. (As
I edit this text at the dawning of the year 2001, I can testify that the
power grid on the West Coast is extremely unstable – now brownouts and
extended blackouts is a part of the way of life in the most affluent
portions of the world, just as they always have been in third world
countries.) Days
of Awe Year 6000 September
11 -- Feast of Trumpets and New year.
The Feast is the beginning of the Holy Days, or 'Days of Awe'
culminating in the Day of Atonement.
The Feast of Trumpets, also known as 'The Day of Judgment,' is
traditionally thought to be the day the final trumpet sounds and the books
of judgment are open. (It is
also believed to be the actual
birthday of Jesus by many, including this author.)
And September 11, 1999 is the first day of the 7th millennium of
Bible time -- the Millennium of the Messiah! Although it is the first day of the first month on the secular
calendar, it is also the first day of the seventh month on the sacred
calendar and on the Roman calendar. This
bit of information diverts us from the sixth seal to the fifth trumpet and
the notoriously famous prophecy Nostradamus for the 7th month of 1999. The
"King of Terror" Passed Us By or On the Way? "Nostradamus"
is one of the most celebrate prophets of all time. Although he lived nearly 500 years ago, he is purported to
have predicted world-changing events from Napoleon's empire to the
assassination of the Kennedy brothers to the invention of the light bulb.
It is said that he even predicted the date and place of his death,
and fulfilled that prophecy to the minute. Nostradamus
(1506 - 1566) was a medical doctor of French-Jewish extraction.
His family converted to Catholicism and took the family name he is
known by, which means "Our Lady" in Latin.
After his wife and children died in the black plague, Nostradamus
was determined to find a cure, and may have done so.
He was appointed court physician to Charles IX.
He became known as a prophet around 1547. Until the end of his life
he wrote his predictions in hundreds of rhymed quatrains, which he
published in a volume entitled Centuries.
Although his predictions were expressed in obscure and enigmatical
terms, several apparently came to pass in his lifetime and brought him a
great reputation. Were
his prophecies inspired by the Deity?
I do not presume to judge, except to comment that Nostradamus
certainly was looking forward into the future for the return of Jesus
Christ, his judgment, and the Millennial Kingdom on earth.
One of his most celebrated prophecies is dated to 1999, seventh
month, which is here and past. The
quatrain I mean does indeed seem to make reference to events that have
made headlines in the last few months of 1999.
Here is the quatrain in old
French, followed by my own translation: L'an mil neuf cent nonante neuf sept mois, Du ciel viendra un grand Roy d'Effrayeur Ressusciter le grand Roy d'Angoulmois, Avant apres Mars regner par bonheur. -*- The year 1999 seventh month, From the heaven (sky) will come a great King of Terror To resurrect the great King of Angoulmois, Before and after, Mars will rule with good fortune. This
prophecy is making a stir all over the world. In Japan, it has touched off
doomsday fever, resulting in booming sales of anything that has to do with
the end of the world. According
to Reuters News Service, a poll taken in Japan revealed
that "…a 'King of Terror' will descend from the skies this
July, heralding a great war." I
was reminded of this prophecy for 1999 when it was received on a fax
machine where I worked, and several who read it wondered. Perhaps you have
heard talk about it, too. What
does it mean? Let me give you
a biblical interpretation. And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a
star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the
bottomless pit. Of
course, the seventh month is July. But
on the Julian calendar (which Nostradamus may be referring to), September
is the seventh month. (The
sept in September means seven in French. And the seventh
Jewish month Tishrei begins September 11. )
So this prophecy could be for either July or September (or October)
1999 but probably September. The
prophecy refers to Revelation 9, the blowing of the fifth trumpet, the
decending of the angel from the sky, and the loosing of the troops of
scorpions (Titans or Gibborim)
from out of the pit. These
monsters are equipped for battle. The
Bible calls the king of these demonic troops Abaddon or Apollyon -
"destroyer." But
Nostradamus calls him the King of Angoulmois, which is either a small town
on the west coast of France, or an anagram for 'mongolois' -- Chinese /
Japanese / Korean. If this
were the case, then Nostradamus, Jack van Impe
and Hal Lindsey all have one thing in common -- the belief that Chinese
tanks are on the way toward the Holy
Land via the Euphrates River. On
thing is for sure, there has been a significant build up of weapons in
China in preparation for expansion, and alignment between the communist
governments of North Korea and China with the terrorist nations of Islam
like Pakistan and Afghanistan. Lately
(December 2000) I read about the foolishness of thinking that the Chinese
could attack. One commentator
was right when he expressed his feeling that “the Chinese are already
here,” having had eight years to thoroughly infiltrate the nation.
All they would have to do is rise up. Nostradamus
could also have been talking about the Anglican King when he writes
of Angoulmois, for all we really know.
Maybe Prince William is the antichrist, as some have speculated
(!!). This
means war! Mars, the
Roman god of war, will have good fortune, for Rome will be there, too, say
the pundits of Armageddon. But
this is only the first woe! Has
the sixth seal been broken in 1999? Or
is this evidence (and much more that is not described here) merely
coincidence? Does anybody
discern the signs of the times? Does
anybody really care? The
answer is, “Well, whatever.” |
