The Restoration of the Fourth Temple: The
Theological Basis of the SacraNatural Lifestyle
Jackson
Snyder, March 3, 1996
The Promise
Of Total Health And Healing in both in the spiritual and physical realms is based on
Psalms 103:2-3 Bless Yahweh, O my soul,
and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who
healeth all thy diseases....
Four Temples
After the Tent, the house of Yahweh was the TEMPLE, the first of which
was built by Solomon, which was subsequently destroyed by sinners in 587 B.C.
Yahweh prophesied through Haggai the building of a glorious new temple:
Haggai 2:6-9 For thus saith Yahweh
Sabaoth; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the
earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the
desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory. The
silver is mine, and the gold is mine. The glory of this latter house shall be
greater than of the former: and in this place will I give peace.
This new,
Second Temple was erected about 70 years after Solomon's was destroyed (515
B.C.) and was known as Zerubabel's temple.
Herod the Great (d. 4 B.C.) restored and rebuilt the Second Temple to
such a great extent that, though it’s still generally called the Second Temple,
it is in fact The Third Temple. It was destroyed by the Romans in 70 A.D. The
Temple has never rebuilt.
The Fourth Temple descended from the bosom
of Yahweh in the form of Yahshua: Jesus Christ. This Temple was christened in
about 30 A. D. when Jesus was baptized. It is a useless endeavor to rebuild the
Temple of Jerusalem, for the perfect temple has already been erected and stands
today as Christ's Mystical Body. In the words and thought of St. Paul:
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 Know ye not that ye
are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? {17} If any
man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is
holy, which temple ye are.
Temple
Restoration And Typology Solomon's Temple was destroyed and replaced
by Yahweh through Zerubabel with silver and gold. Zerubabel's Second Temple was much more lavish (greater) than
Solomon’s, according to the prophet's words:
Haggai 3:8-9a The silver is mine, and the
gold is mine, saith Yahweh Sabaoth. {9} The glory of this latter house shall be
greater than of the former...
Herod's
(Third) Temple was destroyed and replaced by Yahweh through Jesus Christ also
by means of silver and gold. Jesus Christ was to life raised from death as both
a physical body and a spiritual body. The silver and gold of this restoration
have to do with these two realms: the physical (silver) and the spiritual or
sacramental (gold).
Likewise, the Mystical Temple of the Body is
perfect, as it continually restores itself through Jesus' power in the realm of
silver (since he has power to heal all diseases) and in the realm of gold
(since he has power to cancel all iniquity). If no other physical temple is to
exist again (for the time has come to worship Yahweh in spirit and truth), and
if the regenerated are really the Mystical Temple or Body, then "all
power" to heal and forgive should be ours to appropriate through the Head,
Jesus Christ.
The Temple
Realms The Temple of Yahweh was created for
worship. If the Temple is diseased, distressed, abused, unforgiving,
unforgiven, then worship is restrained some and Yahweh is not glorified in word
or deed as he should be. Often the Word
ceases to go out from the Temple. When the Temple is thus afflicted, both the
physical realm (silver) and the gold realm (spiritual) must be restored.
Psalm 104 is a creation song that dates
back nearly 1,000 years before King David, and has been attributed to the great
Pharaoh Akenaton, whom Joseph the son of Jacob the Patriarch may have served
when in Egypt. The Psalm’s ancient lore deals with both creation and
restoration in both realms:
(The Physical Realm) Thou openest thine
hand (a member of the body), they (all creatures - bodies) are filled with
good. (Bodies are filled with good things from the hand of God.) (Psalms
104:28b)
(The Spiritual Realm) Psalms 104:30 Thou
sendest forth thy spirit (not body), they are created: and thou renewest the
face of the earth. (Spirits are created; renewal takes place.)
All things
are to be renewed, both in the physical (silver) realm and the spiritual (gold)
realm, as the Children of Yahweh are revealed and the Wisdom of Ages
rediscovered (Rom 8:21).
The Silver
And Gold Matrix In 104:10-15, note five blessings that come
from the hand of the Creator:
·
Water: Psalms 104:10 He sendeth the springs
into the valleys, which run among the hills.
·
Herbs: v.14 He causeth to grow herbs for the
service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth.
·
Wine: v.15a And wine that maketh glad the
heart of man...
·
Oil: v.15b and oil to make his face to
shine...
·
Bread: v.15c and bread which strengtheneth
man's heart.
Here we have
a listing of the blessings Yahweh means for restoration of the Temple of the
Body. This listing becomes a 5 x 2 matrix when we consider that each of these
blessings has both a silver (physical) and gold (spiritual) dimension.
The Healing
Matrix Explained Water (in the Silver realm) is not
only essential for human longevity, but is also the carrier of vital minerals to
the blood stream. Wholesome water is in short supply in this country. Because
this is so, people seldom live out their potential life span without
experiencing debilitating disease or fatigue.
Water (in the Gold realm) is the catalyst for the grace of God unto
eternal salvation through baptism. Water correctly blessed and used in its
sacramental function provides deliverance and promotes restoration. Water may
also be blessed for healing and cleansing, as you know.
And the righteous shall be like a tree
planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalms
1:3)
Herbs (Silver) (i.e. vegetables and
fruits) and their derivatives (i.e. vitamins and nutrients) are the destroyers
of the free radicals which cause aging, cancers, heart disease and blindness.
While the use of most modern 'prescriptions' only mask symptoms, blessed
fruits, vegetables, herbs, and their derivatives, go to the source of the disease. Herbs (Gold): We normally do not consider
the sacramental use of herbs. Yet many Americans still retain the habit of
blessing their herbs before they eat. (Saying grace.) Herbs of the bitter variety are used on the Passover plate as a
remembrance of bondage. Herbs might be reconsidered as a sacramental symbol of
our freedom in Christ through our physical and spiritual healing. According to
Ezekiel, in the resurrection kingdom,
By the river upon the bank shall grow all
trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit be consumed
the fruit shall be for meat, and the leaf for medicine. (Ezekiel 47:12)
Wine (Silver) has proven itself to
be the beverage of healing, just as St. Paul told his son. Is it so remarkable
that nutritionists have labeled wine a heart disease preventative? After all,
"wine gladdens hearts." Red wine is full of bioflavinoids that bring
incredible restoration to every
organ of the
body when used as the Creator intended.
Wine (Gold): Blessed and distributed as the sacred blood of Jesus, wine
as blood is a spiritual reminder of the New Covenant, and (personified as
Jesus) becomes united with our body and blood, preserving us 'soul and body in
health and eternal life.'
When the ruler of the feast had tasted the
water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which
drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom, And
saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when
men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine
until now. (John 2:9-10)
Oil (Silver) is pressed from the
fruit of the Resurrection Tree, so called, because olive trees don’t die, as
demonstrated by the ancient trees of Jerusalem. Nutritionists advise us that
olive oil is the only vegetable oil that is perfectly healing for a person's
insides and outsides. Certain other oils such as melaleuca, jojoba, and salmon,
also have remarkable healing properties. It makes the face to shine with
vibrant good health. Oil (Gold): The
kings of Israel and Judah were anointed with the oil of Yahweh's authority and favor. Jesus and his
brother James both used oil to heal. Blessed oil is a channel of God's grace
and supernatural healing.
Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever:
the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre. Thou lovest righteousness, and
hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of
gladness above thy fellows. All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and
cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad. (Psa
45:6-8)
Bread (Silver) is not of the Wonder
variety. The ancients ate a coarse bread of barley or spelt. It was their staff
of life - the main course of the common meal. Bread serves as an agent of
cleansing, providing essential lubricants, nutrients, and fiber. Bread (Gold): Jesus is the Bread from
Heaven. His body was 'broken' that we might be 'fixed.' The blessed bread /
body is real food that 'preserves us soul and body in health and eternal life'
by His word.
He that believeth on me hath everlasting
life. I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness,
and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may
eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if
any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will
give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. (John 6:47-51)
Restoration's
Requirement If the Temple of the Holy Spirit is to be
restored to optimum condition, a metanoia must take place. Metanoia is a Bible word often translated
'repentance' but it means very much more.
Meta means 'with' or 'accompanying.’ Nous or noia means 'mind' or 'intellect' or 'attitude.' Together, meta and noia literally
means 'accompanying the intellect.'
Contextually, the word means "a change of mind." (By way of illustration) Metanoia may be understood in much
the same way that the more familiar word metaphysical is.
Metaphysical does not mean 'accompanying
the physical.' It does mean 'that which
accompanies the physical but is not physical.'
Likewise, metanoia means 'that which accompanies the thought
process but is not the thought process.'
In other words, a metanoia has to do with the product of
the process of changing one's way of thinking. It has both Silver and
Gold dimensions.
Thus, to change one's mind in a biblical
fashion has to do with both the physical realities of the decision and the
spiritual energies created by it through the Logos (Jesus). It is not just a
change or a temporary shift; it is metanoic: a permanent, physical and
spiritual transformation that is put in motion by the mind as a response to the
prevenient grace of the Father Almighty. I'm happy to add that, like the
Eucharist (Communion), metanoia or repentance is a mystery of the
highest order.
Metanoia is one of the driving forces behind these
primary Works of Grace: The New Birth, The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, and
Entire Sanctification (of which Temple Restoration and the SacraNatural
Lifestyle is but a part).
For the restoration of our Temples so that
we may worship the Lord with all our potential, we SacraNatural Therapists
seek to
·
Drink
wholesome water that is also Living Water;
·
Learn the
benefits of food and potentiate them by blessing;
·
Use wine for
healthy hearts and the New Covenant written on them;
·
Eat and
apply oils for symptomatic relief and also as a channel of Divinity;
·
Consume
bread that is cleansing, even the Manna from Heaven.
·
And teach
others God's ancient strategy for total Temple restoration.
The SacraNatural Lifestyle is a
means by which we might realize St. John's wish for his friend Gaius
Beloved, I wish above all things that thou
mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. (3 John 2)
by taking
some ownership and authority in our health and prosperity. We can learn first-hand that, as we take
responsibility to keep our Spiritual Temples cleansed and refurbished, Yahweh
will expend no little power through his Messiah to occupied our Temples until
He comes.
